At the occasion of the Franco-Thai symposium held in Bangkok during 1-3 Feb 2012, as part of a roundtable of French and Thai scientists coordinated by the Thailand Research Fund (TRF) and the French Embassy, a Thai-French Research Network on Renewable Energy was formed with a focus on Clean Combustion and Biofuels (CleCombi). The Network aims not only to excel in research, but also to contribute to human resources development and capacity building.
In this connection, a Franco-Thai Summer School on Bio-Energy Technology and Assessment (BETA) designed for Master, PhD students and young scientists is to be organized by JGSEE/CEE-KMUTT with financial support from the French Embassy and CIRAD-NSTDA during 15-18 October 2012 in Bangkok. The primary objective of the School is to conduct short courses for graduate students and young scientists who wish to gain a basic understanding of bioenergy technology and related environmental issues, and their recent advances. At this Summer School, French and Thai professors will be providing introductory lectures on a series of topics covering, biomasss resources, bioenergy technologies and environmental assessment. The participation is free of charge. However, seats are in limited number and will be given on a first come first served basis.
