Young Financial Star Competition (YFS) 2012Posted on February 14, 2013


This competition was organized by The Stock Exchange of Thailand in collaboration with Muang Thai Life Assurance, PTT and the Thai Farmers Bank. This activity has been organized for 10 years in a row in the quest for the best new financial minds. Three hundred and forty-eight university students were shortlisted from out of 5,688 applicants nationwide. These applicants then attended the YFS training camp, and only 47 participants were selected  to attend an intensive training program on financial planning, investment, life assurance, personality development as well as presentation skills. They also had an opportunity to gain additional knowledge on social responsibility from October to 2012-January, 2013.

Mr. Warit Dejwichankit, a third year chemical engineering student in the Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi was selected as one of the 47 finalists and was the second runner up for the PTT CSR Star Team, the best new financier. He earned a 13,000 baht scholarship, a 45,000 baht training course for finance professionals, a 25,000 baht local study visit and a one year accident insurance of 100,000 baht.
