KMUTT Help Saving Energy by Ethanol ED95 Public Bus Line ServicePosted on March 29, 2013

The Thai Prime Minister, Khun Yingluck Shinawat, will preside over the opening of “Ethanol ED95 Public Bus Line Project” on April 5, 2013 at 9:00 am.

King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) is implementing policy of energy management and energy efficiency in accordance with the government policy by conducting “Ethanol ED95 Public Bus Line Project”. The ethanol bus has already been tested on public bus route 21 during 2011 – 2012 in order to promote the use of ethanol to replace diesel and natural gas. Since ethanol can be produced within the country from agricultural produce, diesel consumption in the country can be reduced leading to lowering of fossil oil import from overseas.

Following the success of the Ethanol ED 95 Public Bus project in collaborating with several public and private sector partners, particularly Scania of Sweden, KMUTT is launching the a pilot “Ethanol ED95 Public Bus Line” running between KMUTT and Krungthonburi BTS station during April 18 – June 19, 2013. This project is again in collaboration with our important partners, and will create awareness in green and clean technology for our students, staff and the public. It will also promote the reduction of driving private cars by KMUTT’s and immediate community.
