King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) ranked 55th, was  the highest ranked among Thai universities, followed by Mahidol University (61st) and Chulalongkorn University (82nd), respectively.

The top five universities in Asia were the University of Tokyo (Japan), the National University of Singapore (Singapore), The University of Hong Kong (China), Peking University (China) and Pohang University of Science and Technology (Korea).

The Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings uses the same criteria as THE World University Rankings.  These criteria include five core missions of world-class universities: teaching (worth 30% of the overall score), research (30%), citations (30%), industry income (2.5%) and international outlook (7.5%).
