KMUTT Ranked among Asia’s 50 Best UniversitiesPosted on July 1, 2014

In the second Times Higher Education Asia University Ranking 2013-2014, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi and Mahidol University (MU) have been included in the top 100 best Asian universities. KMUTT has placed exactly in the top 50, a higher position than last year when it was ranked 55th. With this ranking KMUTT is the best Thai university for the second consecutive year. MU placed 82nd whereas Chulalongkorn University fell completely out of the top 100 ranking.


The best Asian University goes to The University of Tokyo, Japan, followed by National University of Singapore, The University of Hong Kong, Seoul National University, Korea and Peking University, China.

The Times Higher Education Asia University Ranking employs the same criteria as its World Best University Ranking, including 13 indicators which are divided into 5 groups: teaching (30%), research (30%), citations (30%), international outlook (7.5%) and industry income (2.5%). KMUTT is outstanding for its citations as the work published by the institution has been increasingly cited by the academic community.
