YOSAKOI Summer School at Kochi University of Technology, Japan

YOSAKOI is a unique style of dance that originated in Japan. The style of dance is highly energetic, combining traditional Japanese dance movements with modern music.

You will have an opportunity to join this festival through the Summer School.

Place:  Kochi University of Technology, Japan

Period: 4 – 13 August 2017

Program Contents:

– Interaction with KUT students and local residents

– YOSAKOI dance festival

– Lectures by KUT professors

– Japanese language and cultural classes

– KUT laboratory tours

– One day excursion in Kochi


– Freshman or sophomore (under 30 years of age)

– Never visited Japan

– Have good academic performance in field of technology, Science or mathematics

– Have a strong interest in the program

– Proficient in English

– Have a good health to dance during daylight in midsummer


– KUT will arrange round trip flights

– Accommodation fee (Including one day excursion)

– Some meals

* Roughly 15,000 JPY will be necessary for small expenses respectively

* Participants are responsible for travel Insurance

The number of participant can join this program: 2 students

Due date of application submission to IA: 12 May 2017 within 16.30 hrs.

Date of Interview: 15 May 2017 start at 10.00 hrs. at Room AD 607, the 6th floor, the Office of the President Building, KMUTT
