BECOMING INBOUND EXCHANGE STUDENT
As you are reading this website, you must have already thought of studying at KMUTT as a part of your study program. Here at KMUTT, we have exchange students joining us every year, and now we invite you to step out of your known world to experience and enjoy the excitement of becoming an exchange student at KMUTT.
Choosing KMUTT as your study destination will not only assure you a strong academic scope through science and technology but also enable you to learn Thai as a foreign language. Moreover, you will have Thai buddies accompanying you throughout your stay here, to help you overcome culture shock. This will also help you to broaden your outlook and perspectives, gain self-confidence to become successful in life. Getting to stay with students from many countries, coming from different backgrounds will help you learn to become culturally more sensitive towards your co-worker, friends and others whom you will come across in future days to come. It will also teach you to become capable of living in an unfamiliar environment.
Besides the reasons above, joining KMUTT as an exchange student will give you an opportunity to pursue higher studies at our university and help you keep making friends and connecting with many more people and resources through our network in days to come

Classroom activities, student performance and academic results are the basics to be evaluated during the study period. It can be separated as follows:
80% of classroom attendance
Group work and presentations
Homework and/ or assignment
Participation in classroom
Thailand is UMAP member country, and also KMUTT, itself, is accredited by the Office of Commission of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. Thus, our credit system automatically ensures the process of credit transfer using a conversion system of credits and grades, namely the UCTS (UMAP Credit Transfer Scheme).

ACADEMIC RECORD/ TRANSCRIPTS
As per the Memorandum of Understanding between KMUTT and your university, upon completion of your exchange program, we will issue you transcript (free of charge) and send it to your university as proof of your enrollment.
LENGTH OF STUDY
Exchange students are required to enroll at KMUTT for one semester up to one academic year.
The 1st semester = the 2nd week of August – 3rd week of December
The 2nd semester = the 3rd week of January – 4th week of May ; two-week break in April will be your good chance to enjoy our well-known Songkran Festival.
TUITION AND FEES
Thanks to the agreement between KMUTT and your university, most of the exchange students will not be required to pay tuition and fees while studying at KMUTT. However, personal expenses such as transportation, meals, health insurance, life insurance etc. are paid by the exchange students.
If you are interested in being a member of KMUTT, you should;
- Be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at one of KMUTT’s partner universities or AIMS partners.
- Have successfully completed at least one year of academic study at your university.
- Be proficient in English.
- Have a good health; both physical and mental to study and stay abroad.
- Have a strong interest in living in Thailand and ready to accept cultural differences.
- An official letter issued by your university.
- One copy of Non-Regular Application Form with photograph (size : 1”) and KMUTT Learning Agreement,
- Official transcript of academic records.
- A copy of passport.
- English language proficiency test results such as TOFEL of at least 500 or IELTS of at least 5.0 or a Recommendation Letter by your English lecture (waive for English native speakers). Interview may be requested on a case by case basic.
- A medical certiﬁcate or a recommendation letter from a doctor or an authorized medical specialist certifying that you are physically and mentally able to take the course and/ or are in good health.
- Additional relevant materials if required by the program you are applying to.
DUE DATE OF APPLICATION
The application documents must be sent to us by June 10th and October 31st for entering to the 1st semester and the 2nd semester, respectively. Anyhow, for those who apply under SHARE framework shall submit application documents by April 1st and October 1st (Note that the due date may be changed in order to be in line with SHARE management)
This will allow time for our faculty members to fully review your applications and our staff to process all the required paperwork. In addition, getting details sorted out early will be beneficial for you to avoid last minute rush to obtain your student visa and this will make it possible for you to book a plane ticket ahead of time.

THE NOTIFICATION OF RESULT
The result of application will be announced in early July and the mid of December for the entry in the 1st semester and the 2nd semester, respectively. At that time, students will receive a package of pre-arrival preparation; both by email and a postal. In addition, you will be contacted by our staff and KMUTT volunteer students to chat in such necessary topics.
